Pokemon Go is sweeping the nation, and just about everyone is wandering the streets to catch ’em all … but where do you go to find the rarest pokemon? We have a few answers for you.

You’ve probably already collected a solid and diverse number of pokemon already if you’ve been playing since the game came out, but you may be seeing the same pokemon over and over.

The truth is that the best way to find rarer pokemon is to level up. When you hit level 10, you tend to see more types of pokemon in your neighborhood that you weren’t seeing before. It’s not hard to hit level 10, you just need to be hitting pokestops and grabbing as many pokemon as possible, and you’ll be there before too long.

Next check the “Nearby” menu on the bottom right of your screen, showing you what types of pokemon are near your location. If it has only one footstep next to it, you’re very close to one, whereas three footsteps indicate its a bit farther away. If you tap on the pokemon you want on this menu, it will help you find one a bit easier.

As for the ultra, ultra rare Pokemon, like Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mew and Ditto? There don’t appear many — if any — confirmed sightings, but there is the possibility that they will be part of real-life events tied to their appearance, as Niantic did with its similar game, Ingress.
